Easy to set up

Got the Looking Glass Portrait. My friend had one and it looked cool. Shipping was pretty fast, got it in like 4 days. It was easy to plug in and get going, didn't need to read a huge manual or anything. Just works. Makes my 3D models look way better than on a normal screen. Happy with it.

Worth the pre-order price

I grabbed the Looking Glass Go during the pre-order phase, mostly for the discount. Paid $150 less than the regular price, which felt like a good deal. It shipped right when they said it would. The display itself is pretty neat for the money, especially since I got that early bird special. I'm using it for quick checks of my 3D models, and it definitely gets the job done without breaking the bank. Good value for what I paid.

Consistent quality, fast delivery

I ordered the Looking Glass 16K this time. Had a Looking Glass Portrait a while back and needed an upgrade for some bigger projects. The experience was pretty much what I expected from them. Order process was smooth, no surprises. Shipping took about 6 days to get to my office in Austin, which is decent for a larger item like that. Got it set up and it's working perfectly, just like my old Portrait did. It's why I keep coming back.

Hey, thinking about grabbing a Looking Glass Go. Anyone know if there are any deals for pre-ordering right now?

O Omar Patel 2 weeks ago
Yeah, they usually have early bird specials when a new product drops. I'd check their site directly or sign up for their emails.

I got a pre-order discount on my Portrait when it first came out, saved like 10-15%. Worth looking into for the Go.

What's the deal with returns if I get one and it's not what I expected?

L Laura E. 1 month ago
Returns were actually pretty straightforward for me when I had to send back a faulty unit. Just follow their process on the site.

Afaik, there's a return policy, but you probably gotta check the fine print for timelines and conditions. They're usually clear about that stuff.

How long does shipping usually take to get to California? Trying to plan a project around it.

W Wendy Doyle 2 weeks ago
Mine came pretty quick to LA, like a week maybe? I think it depends on the size of the display though.

For my Portrait, it was about 5-7 business days from when it shipped to get to me in San Diego. They're usually pretty good about getting things out.

Thinking about the Looking Glass Portrait vs the Sony Spatial Reality Display. Anyone have experience with both?

R Ryan 1 month ago
The Sony is super crisp but pricey. Looking Glass Portrait is more accessible and still really impressive for the money.

Sony has higher resolution, but the Portrait is smaller and more desktop-friendly. Depends on your budget and what you want to do with it.

Can I use more than one discount code? Got a student one and a referral, wondering if I can stack them.

M Mark Foster 1 month ago
Nah, they almost never let you stack codes. It's usually one per order.

I tried that once, didn't work. You'll probably have to pick the better discount.

Are these displays legit or is it just some fancy gimmick? Seen some stuff about 'holographic' displays that turned out to be just 3D.

M Marcus Walsh 2 weeks ago
Totally legit, it's actual glasses-free 3D. Saw one at a convention and it blew my mind.

They're real. Based out of Brooklyn, been around for a while. It's not like those phone screen filters; it's a proper volumetric display.

Is it true you need a super beefy computer to run these holographic displays? I've got a decent gaming rig but nothing crazy high-end.

R Rosa B. 1 month ago
For the bigger ones, yeah, you probably need some good specs. But the Portrait and Go are pretty chill, don't need a supercomputer for those.

I run my Portrait fine on an older MacBook Pro for most things, but if you're doing intense 3D rendering or something, a dedicated GPU helps for sure.
